Rutherford B. Hayes

19th President of the United States

Born in Delaware, Ohio, Rutherford Hayes went to Kenyon College and on to Harvard Law School. He fought in the Civil War and became the 19th President of the United States from 1877-81. During his term as President, he worked to heal the country of our Civil War strife.

When the city of Delaware installed a sculpture of President Hayes in the center of town, Delaware Hayes students Gianni Cordi, Brandon Schrader, and Thomas Hering documented the unveiling. Brent Carson and Bill Reitz share Rutherford B. Hayes' life story.
